Artisans - Stephen Osborn
| Stephen
Osborn is a full time painter who lives and works
in the San Francisco Bay Area. He graduated from San
Jose State University in graphic design and illustration
with a minor in print making, and has had a long and
successful career as an award winning graphic designer
and illustrator. He taught drawing and illustration
at San Jose State University for many years.
Over the years he has won several gold medals and
awards of distinctive merit in the New York, Los Angeles,
and San Francisco Art Directors annual exhibitions.
Communication Arts Magazines featured him in a ten
page article.
I just flat out love to paint—and that is the message
that I'm trying to convey—to share my joy in a visual
dance with the viewer. It's really not all that complicated—just
joy. I'm very intrigued by the abstract patterns in
landscape that occur when man has either worked the
land or built on it, I twist and pull the shapes just
a little for the fun of it.
